Traces of Time Between Silver and Clay

Lee Heami is a Seoul-based ceramic artist who worksprimarily with clay, exploring the textures, forms, and transformations thatemerge through material and time.

Her works are shaped and fired by hand, then repeatedlyoverlaid with silver, allowing traces of time to accumulate across their fluid, organic forms. The silver surfaces respond subtly to temperature, humidity, environment, and use, gradually changing over time. For Lee, an object is neverentirely fixed, but continues to evolve through its relationship with time, space, and the person who lives with it.
